Kansas State’s assistant professor of biology Alice Boyle has dedicated her entire tenure at the University to studying the native grassland bird populations around the Konza Prairie. The Konza, revered as a natural treasure to many Manhattan locals, is host to the Konza Prairie Biological Station, where Boyle conducts most of her research.

Among her findings, Boyle, with assistance from other faculty and graduate student staff, has captured the attention of the National Science Foundation, securing a half-million dollar grant to further her research over the next three years.
