Channel 8: K-State Food Recovery Network aids families in need

The Food Recovery Network is run by volunteers from Kansas State. This organization takes what would have been wasted food from K-State’s athletic performance table and serves it to the people of Manhattan. At no cost, families gather to share a meal together in the evenings Sunday through Thursday

The organization known as the Common Table, along with volunteers from the network, set up at various locations around Manhattan to serve the recovered food. The First United Methodist church is one facility that hosts these feasts twice a week. About 100 pounds of food are served each night.
