Dog of the Day: Sydney

Sydney is 10-year-old pug-beagle mix. She was brought to the shelter and has been up for adoption since Sept. 19.

Workers at the T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter said Sydney is perfect in every way. She is a sweet dog that loves to snuggle. She can be both lazy and active, spending all day laying around or running in the yard.

Sydney is older, but she still has a lot of energy. She does get worn out quickly due to her weight and her age. Sydney listens very well, is very smart and is potty trained.

She would be perfect for anyone, especially a family or a first-time dog owner. She is a happy dog, running up when called with smile on her face. The only thing that would make her happier would be to find a loving home.

People interested in adopting Sydney, or another dog or cat, can head down to the T. Russell Reitz Animal Shelter in Manhattan, where there are many dogs and cats to choose from and workers process adoptions quickly.

People interested in volunteering at the shelter can email for information. Volunteers must be 18 years old, have a valid photo ID and must complete a two-part class.
