Jianzhong Yu, associate professor of anatomy and physiology, studied what these proteins’ functions are and why they could suppress tumors. He said that these two proteins can act as a brake to slow the growth of the cells. Professor Yu also believes that this study could be applicable to animals, which is good news for our furry friends. A graduate student, who worked on the study as well, shows how to break down the cells and collect their data.
