
The spring semester always seem to move far more quickly after spring break, and it appears that this semester will be no exception. Here are some upcoming events to help you keep up with what’s happening on campus, find an event to attend or discover something new at Kansas State University.
Pi(e) Day
What: Celebrate a belated Pi Day (March 14, or 3/14) with free pie from the Union Program Council
When: noon – 1 p.m. Wednesday

Art of Democracy Engagement Symposium
What: Presentations and performances focusing on democracy. Highlights include the closing keynote by Kevin Willmott, Oscar-winning co-writer of “BlacKkKlansman” and professor of film and media studies at the University of Kansas.
When: 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday

A Simple White Blouse
What: A free sketch comedy show presented by On the Spot Improv and the Run Away Ambulance sketch comedy club.
When: 7:30 p.m. Thursday

Jamel Brinkley Reading
What: Fiction writer Jamel Brinkley will read from his work. Brinkley is the author of “A Lucky Man: Stories” and is a finalist for the National Book Award in Fiction.
When: 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Friday

International Student Coffee Hour
What: International students present about their country and culture. This week’s coffee hour focuses on Ecuador. Traditional food from the presenter’s country is also served.
When: 4 – 5 p.m. Friday

Women’s History Month Gallery
What: Stories from women on campus and in the community are displayed in a pop up gallery.
When: Monday, March 25 – Friday, March 29

“The Bachelor” Speaker Olivia Caridi
What: “Big Mouth Olivia” from the 2016 season of the show “The Bachelor” will speak about her time on the show and her experience as a reality TV villain.
When: 7 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26
Where: Forum Hall
48 Hour Film Festival
What: Student teams are challenged to make short films in 48 hours including four required creative elements. The challenge starts on March 21, with the premier and awards ceremony on March 29. Free popcorn and soda are available at the event.

Spring Dance ’19
What: K-State Dance’s spring performance featuring modern, tap, jazz and African choreography styles.
