Channel 8: Moms of men’s basketball players support their sons’ dreams

K-State basketball men's basketball moms sat down to talk to Channel 8 Reporter, Molly Hackett about their experiences and how they have bonded over the last four years. (Molly Hackett | Channel 8 News)

Division 1 athletes’ parents devote time, effort and love in support of their children and their athletic endeavors. During the NCAA Tournament in San Jose, California, four mothers of K-State men’s basketball players shared their experiences. Senior guard Kamau Stokes also talked about what it meant to have his mom in the stands supporting him and how that shaped his experience as an athlete.

Hi, I'm Molly Hackett and I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in broadcast journalism in May 2020. When I worked for the Collegian, I had a variety of different jobs, including managing editor and sports editor. Additionally, I served a one year term on the Collegian Media Group Board of Directors. I also worked for KKSU-TV and appeared as an anchor on MHK All Day during my final semester at K-State. In my free time, I like to spend time with the people closest to me, travel, drink coffee and take naps.
