Electrical issue triggers fire alarm in Trotter Hall

Fire crews responded to an alarm triggered by an electrical issue in Trotter Hall at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

The alarm sounded in the building’s basement, according to a K-State Alerts message, and the building was evacuated. The Manhattan Fire Department responded to the alarm.

A follow-up alert message and a tweet from the MFD reported the incident was triggered by an electrical issue that caused smoke, but no fire. Responders cleared smoke from the basement and reopened the rest of the building.
