The tennis team rounded out its fall season with several victories at the ASU Invitational over the weekend.
On Friday, in session one of doubles competition, sophomore Karine-Marion Job and senior Ines Mesquita lost 6-1 to senior Katarina Kopcalic and sophomore Sedona Gallagher of Washington. The duo lost 7-6.
Meanwhile, Washington’s junior Vanessa Wong and senior Natsuho Arakawa defeated juniors Margot Decker and Anna Turco 6-1.
In the second session of singles play, the Wildcats came away with one victory when Turco defeated senior Chiara Lommer of Michigan (6-3, 1-6, 7-5).
Decker, Job and Mesquita were unable to win their singles matches against their opponents from Michigan.
On Saturday, in the first doubles session, K-State went up against players from Arizona State and Texas Tech.

Job and Mesquita lost 6-2 to seniors Ilze Hattingh and Savannah Slaysman of Arizona State. Redshirt senior Sammi Hampton of Arizona State and sophomore Isa Di Laura from Texas Tech took the victory against the Wildcat duo of Decker and Turco 7-6(5).
In singles play on day two, Kansas State won three of four matches against Ohio State and Michigan.
Turco lost to freshman Irina Cantos Siemers of Ohio State (2-6, 6-3, 6-4). Mesquita, Decker and Job beat their individual opponents. Mesquita won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 against freshman Cindy Chen of Ohio State. Decker beat senior Lera Patuik of Michigan 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 and Job defeated sophomore Lanie Van Linge of Michigan 7-6, 6-3.
On the final day of competition on Sunday, Job secured a win in singles play, knocking off Texas Tech’s sophomore Kennedy Bridgforth in two sets, 6-1 and 6-3.
Mesquita secured her victory in over junior Meredith Roberts from Mississippi State. She won in two sets, 6-1, 6-3.
The third victory on the day for K-State in singles play came from Decker in two sets against Slaysman (6-2, 6-4).
