Channel 8: Students joined the community in voting “NO” for a tax increase.

Editor’s note: The Collegian hosts this content as a courtesy to other on-campus media like Channel 8 News. There is an error in this news package that misidentifies the location of the levees. The levees in question are actually on Tuttle Creek, not Wildcat Creek.

“A six percent increase in odd-year votes gave Manhattan three new commissioners. Third-place candidate, Aaron Estabrook, says, “I am a public servant and I will work for the people,” in regards to the failed tax increase proposal. This tax would have largely gone into the Wildcat Creek levee, forcing Manhattan’s government to look internally for funding.
