Aggieville bars announced Saturday morning that the annual Fake Patty’s Day celebration scheduled for March 21 is canceled due to COVID-19 and public health concerns.

Tubby’s Sports Bar posted on their Facebook page that while they won’t be celebrating Fake Patty’s, they will hold normal business hours.

The Fake Patty’s Facebook page announced that the event could be celebrated May 2 if there’s community support for it.

“As of now, we are just decided to cancel next weekend. May 2nd is an idea for a bar in the district. It is too soon for us to make any plans that far ahead,” Kara Wray, Aggieville Business Association marketing intern, said via email.
