Wildcats,

With a heavy heart, the Kansas State Collegian decided to reduce the publication of its print newspaper to once a week because of budget cuts. This decision will not affect our ability to inform the public online but limits our ability to reach the community.

We will continue to send our Monday, Wednesday and Friday newsletters. Subscribe to receive those in your inbox at kstatecollegian.com/newsletter.

The Collegian employs approximately 30 staff members in editing, writing, photography and advertising positions. These students and journalists work hard to inform the community about issues students face, events around campus and keep an open dialogue for everyone.

The Collegian Media Group’s other publications — The Royal Purple yearbook and Manhappenin’ Magazine — will also see reductions to their products. The Royal Purple will have 60 fewer pages and Manhappenin’ will publish a 24-page product. Despite this, all of our publications remain dedicated to keeping an accurate record and reflection of K-State.

Not only do CMG publications serve others, but they also provide a way for students to gain technical skills for their future careers. While it may be more difficult now, CMG has tremendous student leaders who want to help others.
