Incumbent Democratic State Senator Tom Hawk leads with 14,573 votes in Kansas’ 22nd State Senate District. These are preliminary results.
Republican opponent Craig Bowser has 14,241 votes.
Kansas’ 22nd State Senate District covers Clay, Geary and Riley County.
Tom Hawk was elected in 2012, defeating Republican Bob Reader who defeated incumbent Roger Reitz in the Republican primary.

Hawk ran unopposed in the Democratic primary for three straight election cycles and ran unopposed in the 2016 general election. His platform emphasizes education, good jobs and fair taxes.
Bowser served in the U.S. Army from 1991 to 2015. His platform promised to support small businesses, job creation, higher and technical education and military veterans.
