After success in doubles on Saturday, tennis team looks toward Doubles Consolation Finals on Sunday

Juniors Maria Linares and Karine-Marion Job stepped up for the Wildcats on Saturday at the Oklahoma State Fall Series Championship at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

The duo won their first matchup against Kansas’ Julia Deming and Malkia Ngounoue in seven sets to five.

They carried their momentum into their next matchup against Iowa State’s Maty Cancini and Christin Hsieh, commandingly winning at 6-1.

With the victories the pair clinched a spot in the Doubles Consolation Finals on Sunday against Jessica Hinojosa and Livia Kraus of Baylor, beginning at 10 a.m.

In singles action, redshirt junior Rosanna Maffei defeated Nell Miller of Texas Tech, 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Manami Ukita took down Jessica Hinojosa of Baylor 6-3, 6-4. Job defeated Carmen Roxana Manu of Kansas 6-4, 7-6 (6).

K-State concludes their fall season on Sunday afternoon with the Doubles Consolation Finals.
