For 24 hours, a Twitter poll asked students about their plans for Thanksgiving amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kansas State asked students to refrain from unnecessary travel and to take an asymptomatic test at Lafene Health Center if they do plan to go home for the holiday.

Of the 142 respondents, 25.4 percent indicated that they plan to stay in town for Thanksgiving. About 42 percent said they plan to go to a “family gathering” for the holiday. Another 12.7 percent of the respondents reported that they plan to do some kind of “traveling.”

The remaining participants — 19.7 percent — said they remain unsure about their plans.
