The Riley County Health Department reported 114 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the local total to 3,157. This increase occurred since the department’s last report on Wednesday.
People 18 to 24-years-old make up about 63 percent of all positive cases recorded locally — about 1,900 unique cases.
Of the nine active COVID-19 outbreaks in the county, five are connected to Kansas State students. The list of ongoing outbreaks is as follows:
- Alpha of Clovia – two cases, five recoveries, no deaths
- Beta Sigma Psi – no cases, five recoveries, no deaths
- Alpha Chi Omega — two cases, three recoveries, no deaths
- Creche Daycare – no cases, seven recoveries, no deaths
- K-State football – three cases, 74 recoveries, no deaths
- K-State track and field – no cases, 27 recoveries, no deaths
- Leonardville Nursing Home – two cases, 10 recoveries, one death
- Via Christi Village – five cases, six recoveries, one death
- 10/17 Wedding – no cases, 42 recoveries, no deaths
It takes 28 days of no new positive tests associated with an outbreak for the health department to declare it complete.

In all, 2,670 people who previously tested positive for COVID-19 in Riley County are recovered, leaving 473 active cases.
There are six positive patients currently hospitalized at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan. An additional four possible positive individuals are hospitalized.
Riley County reported an 18.6 percent positivity rate for the week of Nov. 8, a slight decrease from the previous week. The most recent report from K-State showed an on-campus positivity rate surpassing 10 percent.
Since Aug. 17, the first day of classes at Kansas State, the county has added more than 2,500 new cases of COVID-19.
