TAKE A LOOK: COVID-19 by the numbers in Riley County on Dec. 21

The Riley County Health Department reports 71 new cases of COVID-19 in Riley County, bringing the local total to 4,565. There are 290 active cases in the county.

There are 12 positive patients hospitalized at Ascension Via Christi hospital in Manhattan. Two patients are on ventilators.

Riley County reports 19 deaths, the most recent of which was announced on Dec. 16.

On Monday, the health department recorded 198 new recoveries from COVID-19. In all, 4,256 people have recovered in Riley County.

The two-week positivity rate in Riley County is 19.2 percent.

The health department received the first shipment of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine today. The Food and Drug Administration gave the vaccine an emergency use authorization on Friday, Dec. 18.
