TAKE A LOOK: COVID-19 in Riley County by the numbers on Jan. 15

The Riley County Health Department announced one new COVID-19 related death on Jan. 15, bringing the local total to 23 deaths. An 85-year-old male passed away on Jan. 8 at Ascension Via Christi hospital.

Additionally, there are 130 new positive cases and 64 additional recoveries since the last report on Jan. 13. There are 545 active cases in the county.

In total, there have been 5,597 people in Riley County who have tested positive for COVID-19, and 5,029 recoveries.

There are currently 23 positive patients hospitalized at Ascension Via Christi hospital in Manhattan and one patient experiencing symptoms. Three of the positive patients are in intensive care.

Phase 2 vaccinations will begin next week.
