TAKE A LOOK: COVID-19 in Riley County by the numbers on Jan. 27

The Riley County Health Department reported 59 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the local total to 5,886 cases. There are 295 active cases in the county.

Additionally, there are 20 new recoveries, bringing the local total to 5,561.

Eleven individuals are hospitalized at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan at this time. Three are in intensive care.

On Monday, the health department announced two additional deaths related to COVID-19. A 90-year-old female and a 72-year-old male passed away last week at Ascension Living Via Christi Village and Ascension Via Christi Hospital respectively.

On campus, there is a 3.75 percent positivity rate for the week of Jan. 18 through 22. In Riley County as a whole, the positivity rate is just over eight percent.
