The Riley County Health Department reported 33 new positive cases of COVID-19 on Feb. 17. There are 132 active cases in Riley County with a total of 6,148 since the beginning of the pandemic.
The health department reports 114 recoveries since Feb. 12. There are 5,984 total recoveries.
Some cases were transferred out of the county
“We are constantly updating our numbers and cases and transferring cases out of county,” Renee Lucas, public health emergency preparedness coordinator, said. “I do not include in my numbers how many are transferred.”

Three positive patients are hospitalized at Ascension Via Christi hospital in Manhattan. Two of those patients are in intensive care.
Riley County has a positivity rate of 2.6 percent for the week of Feb. 7. For the week of Feb. 1, the health department reported a 4.8 percent positivity rate.
On campus for the week of Feb. 8, there is a 1.79 percent positivity rate.
