The Riley County Health Department announced two new COVID-19 related deaths on March 15, bringing the local total to 35 deaths. A 69-year-old woman and an 80-year-old woman passed away last week.
The 69-year-old woman tested positive on Jan. 7 and passed away on March 10. The 80-year-old woman tested positive on Jan. 19 and passed away on March 10.
Additionally, there are nine new positive cases and 14 recoveries since the last report on March 10. There are 53 active cases in the county.

In total, there have been 6,252 people in Riley County who have tested positive for COVID-19, and 6,164 recoveries.
There are currently two positive patients hospitalized at Ascension Via Christi hospital in Manhattan.
Of the total positive cases in Riley County, 46 percent are in individuals aged 18-24.
Additionally, 6,036 people are fully vaccinated — have received two doses — and 5,824 have received one dose of the vaccine.
