Riley County positivity rate jumps to three percent

The Riley County Health Department announced 42 new positive cases of COVID-19 and 43 additional recoveries, bringing the total amount of active cases to 41.

For the week of April 18, the positivity rate was 3.2 percent. Of the 1,028 tests performed, 33 were positive. On campus, the positivity rate was 3.66 percent for the week of April 26. Of the 526 tests performed at Lafene, 20 were positive.

The positivity rate for the week of April 18 was 1.7 percent. On campus for the same time frame, the positivity rate was 1.2 percent.

There is one COVID-19-positive patient at Ascension Via Christi hospital in Manhattan.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have 6,463 total cases of COVID-19.

The health department has fully vaccinated 19,184 people.
