All over neighborhoods, stores and downtown Manhattan, lights are up for the holiday season. Downtown Manhattan currently has one of the largest displays in town, the Festival of Lights. This is a personal favorite for multiple Kansas State students.

“I love the Festival of Lights. I have gone the past few years, and it always gets me in the Christmas spirit.” Macy Wineland, junior in marketing, said.

Kathryn Coleman, sophomore in animal science, gave highlights on what she enjoyed most about the Festival of Lights.

“My favorite part of the Festival of Lights was the tree and the tunnel of lights,” Coleman said. “It put me in the Christmas spirit, and it was fun to hang out with friends and take a break during finals week to just focus on the holiday season.”

Other honorable mentions have been the lights on houses in neighborhoods around town.

“I love the lights in Sharingbrook Drive and in Colbert Hills, they’re so beautiful, and they really show that the town is excited for the holidays.” Alexis Hoeme, junior in social work, said.

The lights in town are raising spirits and have been getting everyone excited for the holidays and winter break.

Take time to explore Manhattan and find your own favorite lights. More information about the festivities downtown is available on the Downtown Manhattan website.
