With Week of Welcome in full swing, Kansas State’s calendar is packed with fun events for new and returning students. The International Block Party is a perfect opportunity to meet new people and try different cuisines this Friday, Aug. 25.

Put on by the Union Programming Council, K-State Alumni Association, the Student Union and the Dow Center for Multicultural and Community Studies, the event will have music, food and be completely free of cost, according to the K-State Alumni Association’s website. It will be at Bosco Student Plaza from 7-10 p.m.

Attendees can expect a live DJ and food trucks offering free international cuisine. According to the K-State Alumni Association, the countries highlighted will include Greece, Mexico and India.

Isabel Chavez, junior in food science, said she is most excited to interact with other students.

“I work in the Multicultural Center, so I am always seeing and learning about different countries and cultures,” Chavez said. “I think the event will be a fun way to talk to people while also eating really good food.”
